Exploring the console’s best exclusives this summer.
I’ve always had both Xbox and PlayStation consoles ever since I was a kid. However, I left my original Xbox and Xbox 360 with my parents halfway across the world. It wasn’t too bad since I also had a PC in addition to my PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, but I still missed some of the exclusives I loved from Xbox. I really hated the fact that the first and third Fable were the only games in the series available on the PC. It sucked because I thought that the second one was the best.
Consequently, I rectified this dilemma by purchasing a secondhand Xbox 360 from a good friend for $50. I asked my cousin from Virginia to send the Kinect and games she kept for me while I was in college. I know you can’t get Minecraft on PS4 anymore so I had to have her send that too so I could play it on Xbox. I’ve told my cousin that if she could get a copy of Minecraft for Xbox, I would use something like ggservers so we can play together. At the same time, I even went to GameStop and bought the exclusives I’ve never really played as you can see from the photo above. Fable II is part of that stack only because someone lent it to me when I first played it. Now I own a copy!
I’m looking forward to the Master Chief collection when it comes out, but I bought the games that wouldn’t be included in the bundle. This actually makes me think if it was a good idea since it might be better if I started from the very beginning. I’ve never actually played Halo games. I used to play the local multiplayer with my young cousins from time to time, but I don’t really think that counts.
When it comes to Gears of War, I’ll be honest when I say that I’ve never been exposed to it. I haven’t even seen gameplay footage on YouTube so I don’t know anything about the franchise. I also did not know that there was a third game since it was not in the bargain bin. Oh well, it’s not too much of a problem since I have quite a number of games to mull through.
The Alan Wake games are in the bargain bin, but I did play those games when I still had my Xbox 360 and I’m not really up for playing them again.
I know a lot of people might disagree with me, but I’m quite happy about getting my Kinect again. The games are quite fun especially when you have friends over. I really love the Dance Central games and I could play for hours just trying to get five stars on different tracks. I’m only holding back on the Xbox One and its Kinect right now because Dance Central: Spotlight isn’t out yet.
As for Fable, I already have Fable III and I’m still thinking twice about playing that game. I’m definitely picking up Fable Anniversary one of these days. However, I’m planning to play the second game first since it’s my favorite. The great thing about these games is nothing too significant from the past games carry over to the next so I don’t need to replay it from the very beginning.
Any game recommendations for me?
